Arizona's Dry Air Makes Swamp Coolers Highly Effective
Swamp coolers — also called evaporative coolers — pull hot, dry air through water-saturated pads. That process drops the air temperature 15–25°F before it reaches your guests. Performance scales directly with humidity: below 20% humidity you'll see the full 25°F drop; at 30–40% expect 10–18°F; above 50%, output drops significantly. Phoenix's dry climate means peak performance for most of the year.
During dry months (April–June, September–November) swamp coolers run at maximum effectiveness. Even during July–August monsoon season when humidity temporarily rises, the airflow alone creates meaningful relief for outdoor guests.
